Don't Eat the Candy Yet

■ 제시문

Mr. Smith is a kindergarten teacher. He wanted to test his students' patience, so he gave each student a piece of candy and said, “I have to leave the classroom. I will come back in ten minutes. Please do not eat your candy. I will give you two more pieces if you wait until I come back.”

Some children gobbled up their candies as soon as the teacher left. Some waited but soon started eating their candies. Danny gazed at the piece on the table in front of him. However, he did not eat his candy.

When Mr. Smith came back, Danny was the only student who did not eat his candy. Mr. Smith was very proud of Danny. He said to Danny, “You did great! You deserve this.” He gave Danny two more pieces. However, Danny did not eat his candy. He said in a happy voice, “If I wait for ten more minutes, will you give me four more pieces?”
