The Korean Lawn Tennis had the best day.

At the Lawn Tennis Individual Matches at the Sajik Lawn Tennis Field in Busan on the 7th, Korea swept all 5 gold medals and completed the great task to ‘sweep the all 7 events’ for the first time. Korea won the Men’s and Women’s Singles, Doubles, and the Mixed Double following the winning of the Team matches on the 3rd.

The Lawn Tennis kept a long tradition since the Dong-A Daily hosted the National Women’s Championship in 1923 as the first individual sports event in Korea. However, it lost its position because it was an unpopular sport. Last year, ‘the Mecca of the Lawn Tennis,’ the Hochang Ball Park was removed, so it became ‘homeless.’

Although no one paid attention, the Korean Lawn Tennis Association prepared for the Asian Games thoroughly starting 2 years ago. The Association led by the president Park, Sang-Ha put everything to support the National Team. It called the National Team as early as May and started intense training in Munkyong, where the exclusive courts for the Lawn Tennis were located. The players, who were encouraged by this support, turned their Chusok vacation back and showed enthusiasm.

The Korean Lawn Tennis united toward the top, Kim, Kyong-Han (Dalsong-Gun Office) and Park, Yong-Hui (Daegu Bank) won the Men’s and Women’s Singles, Lee, Won-Hak (Dalsong-Gun Office) and Yoo, Yong-Dong (Sunchon City Hall) couple and Kim, So-Woon (Suwon City Hall) and Chang, Mi-Wha (Ansung City Hall) won the Men’s and Women’s Doubles. And Yoo, Yong-Dong and Kim, So-Woon won the Mixed Doubles and became 3-crown champions.
