Chinese premier`s son disputes NYT`s claims in letter

A Chinese website based in the U.S. says the son of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has written a letter to the editor of The New York Times disputing the daily’s recent report claiming that the Wen family has amassed massive wealth.

Ming Jing, citing multiple sources, said Wen Yun Song reportedly conveyed a message of appeal against the newspaper, clarifying in person that the New York Times report was not fact-based. The website, however, noted that the letter will likely be delivered to the newspaper after the end of the 18th General Assembly of the Chinese Communist Party in mid–November to prevent the appeal from influencing the event.
