In regards to the incident in which the iron fence near the front-most line was found cut on October 26, the United Nations Command (UNC) reported that the cutting was professionally done.
During a meeting with Korean journalists on November 9, Deputy Chief of Staff Thomas Kane (major general of U.S. air force) of the UNC said, The cutting of the iron fence is delicate. It seems like it was professionally done. At the end of last month, the UNC organized a five-people investigation team and inspected the site, where the fence was cut.
In saying, Following a thorough investigation and plan, this incident seems like it was done by a person who is well informed of the terrain, Deputy Chief of Staff Kane reversed the investigation report conclusion made by the Korean governments joint investigation team.
Referring to the number of people who crossed the Demilitarized Zone into North Korea, Deputy Chief of Staff Kane added, In regards to the number of people who crossed the fence, there is no evidence to judge whether its only one or more.
