Constitutional Court Examining Written Opinion About Impeachment

Posted March. 22, 2004 23:12,

The Constitutional Court is examining the treatment of President Roh Moo-hyun, such as seat positioning for him and judges, in case of his appearance at the open plea related to the impeachment next Tuesday.

In the second Council on March 25, the Constitutional Court will discuss this and inquire into the original bill about the cause for the impeachment and whether or not he violated election law.

Head of the Court Yoon Young-choel said on Monday that “we are collecting data about the treatment of a defendant (in the case of Mr. Roh) from other countries.” He added, “About the controversy on the withdrawal of the impeachment, I will think about it when it comes out.”

The Constitutional Court will make a close examination on these issues when it receives a written opinion and answer related to the impeachment from the defense team for President Roh, a chairman of the legislation and judiciary committee, and the Justice Minister on Tuesday.
