War Prisoner Kim Gi-jong, who was kidnapped by North Korea during the Korean War, returned to South Korea after a half a century through Incheon International Airport on March 4. Kim was recruited in 1952 and was in the Capital Division. On July 1953, he was taken prisoner at the Gumwha battle. During his stay in China, he encountered a crisis of being repatriated to the North, but he was able to return to the South thanks to negotiations between Korea and China. Thirty-five prisoners including Kim returned to the South.
