Challenges are always beautiful. The physically challenged overcame their handicaps with the indomitable spirit. Therefore their challenges seem more beautiful. About 50 of those participated and ran fast on the slope at a ski competition by the first Korea Disabled Ski Association at Phoenix Park in Pyoung-chang, Gang-won province on Friday. Lost his right leg in an accident during his army service five years ago, Lee Kyoung-whan, a 30-year-old skier on the national team of the disabled, demonstrated how to ski with one leg and two hands. He said, “I applaud these players who have physical disability but bravely participated in the competition.” He also said that he hoped for a day when he could see many disabled skiers in other skiing grounds. Lee Young-seok, a mentally disabled, was the winner at a speed of 40.25 seconds in the competition of 700m-slope.
