Murdered Brother-in-law Aiming at Insurance Money

Bukbu police station of Busan on the 27th sought arrest warrants for 4 persons including Mr. Ko(44. unemployed) and his complicities Mr. Seo(49. cabdriver) and Mrs. Jeong(50. female. Insurance company employee) on the charge (murder) that they killed his brother-in-law disguising it as a hit and run accident after selling him insurance in order to collect large amount of insurance.

According to the police, Mr. Ko and his friend Mr. Seo allegedly called his brother-in-law Mr. Jeon (38) around at three in the morning of the 10th out to an sushi restaurant at Dadaepo beach in Saha-gu, Busan, and served him with liquor to be intoxicated, and took him to the beach road in Yongwon-dong, Jinhae city, Gyeongnam province, and hit him to death with a car lent from his common-law wife Mrs. Jeong, after which disguised it as a hit-and-run accident.

From the investigation of police, Mr. Ko carefully planed the crime with Mr. Seo from October last year that he bought 4 traffic related insurances for 250 million won using the name of Mr. Jeon so that he could receive the insurance money, and set fire to Mrs. Jeong’s car to destroy the evidence.

On the way of investigating hit-and-run accidents, Police suspected that Mr. Jeon, who had no regular income, took out insurances successively, and the recipient of the insurance money was not his only mother but Mr. Ko, and finally found out the crime of Mr. Ko after detecting him.
