The two Koreas will have discussions with the International Olympic Committee regarding their bid for the 2032 Summer Games on Feb. 15, next year. To that end, Seoul and Pyongyang have agreed to deliver a letter of intent to the international organization as soon as possible.
At the inter-Korean liaison office in Kaesong on Friday, the two Koreas held sports division talks and adopted a joint press release. South Korean Culture, Sports and Tourism Vice Minister Roh Tae-kang and North Korean Vice Sports Minister Won Gil Woo led the inter-Korean sports talks.
The two Koreas also talked about the co-participation in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As part of their discussions, a proposal was agreed on forming a united team in game events: where they have had played on one team; or as suggested by the International Sports Federation. Both Koreas plan to have follow-up talks on practical issues such as joint training sessions.
