The presidential transition committee has sped up operations to complete its tasks before its dissolution in two weeks. The inauguration of President-elect Park Geun-hye will take place on Feb. 25, and the committee will end all activities three days prior to the event.

A committee source said Tuesday, "We`re devising national affairs projects as urged by President-elect Park Geun-hye in briefings for each sector. Finalizing all tasks before the Lunar New Year`s holiday is proving difficult. We`re taking a two-track approach of national affairs and working on a committee white paper."

Staff from the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry were dispatched to the committee two weeks earlier to help prepare the white paper. The committee will give assignments to each section for the project led by the departments of national affairs planning and coordination and administration.

A committee member said, "We will barely be able to enjoy the Lunar New Year`s holiday since we have to work over that period except on Lunar New Year`s Day."
