The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has selected Hyundai and Kia as the most fuel efficient and environmentally-friendly carmakers in its report on car technology, carbon dioxide emission and fuel economy trends.
The report was drawn up based on a survey on 2010 models. With fuel efficiency of 11.5 kilometers per liter, Hyundai and Kia beat Japanese auto maker Toyota of 10.8 kilometers per liter. In CO2 emission, Hyundai and Kia cars were most eco-friendly by emitting the lowest amount of carbon dioxide at 329 grams per mile and 330 grams per mile, each.
