After former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in a terror attack yesterday, protests have taken place in many areas of Pakistan, claiming many lives. The nation is in total chaos.

Many foreign media outlets said that since its foundation in 1947, Pakistan is in the worst kind of crisis. The AFP said yesterday, “Angry protesters took to the streets, burning cars and launching attacks on police stations and public buildings.” Riots have so far killed 15 lives, and some 150 cars and dozens of buildings have burned down.

The Pakistani government asked its people to be calm, decided to have a three-day-mourning-period, and ordered all of its schools, businesses, and financial organizations to be closed temporarily.
