President Roh Moo-hyun (left) and former president Kim Dae-jung sat together at the luncheon for the ‘Summit Meeting for the Nobel Prize Laureates’ held on June 16 at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center at Gwangju. In his address President Roh said that “former president Kim’s visit to North Korea later this month will be a good opportunity to develop South-North relations.” Having met one year after the international academic conference in commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the 6.15 Joint Declaration, the two exchanged greetings but did not discuss current affairs. About 700 people were present at this event, including 13 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates and former USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev.
