The Korea Teachers’ and Education Workers’ Union (KTU) postponed a mass demonstration against the government’s new teacher assessment system.

“We decided to delay the protest, originally scheduled for Saturday, until after November 25,” announced Lee Soo-il, head of the KTU at the union’s headquarters in Seoul.

The union’s decision was purportedly made after considering the notion that public sentiment could worsen when teachers miss classes collectively at this time, in light of the college entrance exam on November 23.
