North Korea, Japan Resume Talks

At a bilateral meeting between North Korea and Japan that resumed in Beijing after a year’s recess, journalists surround Song Il Ho, vice director of the North Korean Foreign Ministry’s Asian Affairs Department and the North’s representative to the talks. Song and his Japanese counterpart, Akitaka Saiki, deputy director general of the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, discussed the issue of repatriation of Japanese abductees still alive in North Korea and Japanese colonial rule of Korea.
