Posted May. 05, 2005 23:35,

While Korea-Japan relations are strained due to the distortion of Japanese history textbooks and the dispute over the Dokdo, Takebe Tsutomu, chairman of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party, and Tetsuzo Fuyushiba, secretary-general of LDP coalition partner the New Komeito party, visited Korea on May 5.

Takebe’s group will visit President Roh at Cheong Wa Dae on the morning of May 6, and is reported to have a letter from Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi for the president. The content of the letter is of much interest.

They will also meet with Chairman Kim Won-ki of the National Assembly, Uri Party leader Moon Hee-sang, and Grand National Party leader Park Geun-hye.
