The Bank of Korea announced on June, 9, that two new models of connected money will be sold in the markets beginning from the twelfth. New models will be Two 5000 won bills form (picture) and Four 1000 won bills form. The former model would have two 5000 won bills connected by bottom and top, and the latter would have 1000 won bills attached to form a rectangle of two by two. 30,000 sets will be published.

The cost of connected money will be the total sum of its nominal value, packing charge, added value tax and marketing cost: 14,100 won for the Two 5000 won bill form and 8,200 won for the Four 1000 bill form.

These new models could be bought at the Bank of Korea`s Money and Finance Museum, and one person can buy up to two sets per each model. If the buyer is willing to pay for the postal charges, purchase through the Internet (www.bok.or.kr) is also possible.

Two 5000 won bills with consecutive numbers through 1 to 100 are going to be displayed in the Money and Finance Museum, and those with consecutive numbers through 101 to 1000 will be sold at Internet auction, of which the profit is planned to be used in a campaign to help needy neighbors.

The Bank of Korea issued new connected models as the Two 1000 won bills (selling price at 4800 won) first published last June gained much popularity for collections or gifts.
