[Editorial] Mr. Hong-gul, What Is the Reason for Coming Secretly?

President Kim Dae Jung`s third son, Mr. Hong-gul, returned for investigation of the prosecution, however its methods were really strange and clumsy.

People felt furious again when several national organizations hid the President`s son and protected him.

Even though he took flight for his return, they denied his whereabouts, made him change flight on the way, shunned the press and changed his arrival at the airport in order to avoid disclosure of his face, their close strategy was surprising.

Their competition of royalty for taking care of the President`s son causes misunderstanding, as if we are living in dynasty era.

It is difficult to understand how Cheong Wa Dae and the prosecution harmonized so well.

Such protection and excessive care of power towards the President`s son raises suspicion of Mr. Hong-gul`s compromise even more.

We can presume why each compromise of the President`s son had to be concealed.

In spite of several apologies regarding his son`s matter, President Kim does not seem to realize the seriousness of the matter and the indignation of the people.

Mr. Hong-gul, as he returned to receive investigation related to suspicion of compromise, should have been humbled.

How to return was another opportunity for Mr. Hong-gul.

If he had shown that he wishes to seek forgiveness and drop his head, saying, “I apologize to people,” people’s minds could have changed a little.

The power operation of Mr. Hong-gul’s secret return was a failure which couldn`t read people`s mind. On the contrary, it raised furiosity even more.

Mr. Hong-gul, who will appear in front of prosecution soon, should not show a clumsy aspect like that of his return, again.

He should appear just like a normal person, be photographed, and receive questions from the press, too.

The prosecution should not hurry in the investigation by limiting time for it and the content of suspicion.

If this happens, the suspicion of compromise would become big.

Everything depends on the will of the prosecution`s investigation.
