Hyundai Motor will supply a total of 1,000 fuel cell electric trucks to Europe over the next five years.
In the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hanover, Germany, the largest South Korean automaker signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with H2 Energy (H2E), a Swiss hydrogen company, for the supplies of 1,000 hydrogen trucks.
The two companies vowed to forge a firmer strategic partnership to expand the distribution of hydrogen trucks in European markets including Switzerland. The large-sized lorries that Hyundai Motor is supplying are categorized into two: freezer vans and typical vans.
The South Korean company is working on development to meet the local regulations in Europe, building upon its Xcient truck model.
