A video footage taken during the Trooping the Colour, a celebration marking the Queen’s 90th birthday, shows Queen Elizabeth admonishing Prince William.
According to the Daily Mail report on Saturday, Queen Elizabeth was on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the celebration on June 11. Royal family members, including Prince Charles and Duchess Kate Middleton, were enjoying the parade and air show besides Queen Elizabeth. With even the 90-year-old Queen standing up, Prince William was sitting down and tending to his son Prince George.
Then, Queen Elizabeth tapped Prince William’s arm, saying, “Stand up, William.” Prince William, who is second in line to the throne, stood up straight away after being scolded by ‘granny.’ Prince George covered his eyes with hands.
This video clip was shared on Twitter by Brandon McGinley. It received responses such as “the royal family is just like any other family” and “even prince cannot avoid being scolded by grandmother.”
Queen Elizabeth’s birthday is in April, but the birthday celebration is held in June when the weather is usually good.
