Mattingly says goodbye to Dodgers

Manager Don Mattingly (photo) declared a separation from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. Mattingly was expected to come back for the next year season after the division series against the New York Mets. However, when Mattingly requested for renewing the contract for multiple years, the club suggested only one more year contract, which led to the separation. Mattingly was the New York Yankees` big batter before he became the manager of Dodgers in 2011, and his achievements are winning the division matches three times in a row, 446 wins and 363 defeats, and 0.551 percent of winning rate.

Dodgers have never made it into the World Series since 1988 even though the team is known for the highest salary for the last three years. Such an achievement as winning division matches in three straight years was never made by any legendary leaders of Dodgers. However, it seems like the credit did not go to Mattingly. Experts speculate, "Mattingly is very likely to be scouted when there is a vacancy." Dodgers should find another manager as soon as possible. Prospective candidates are Gabe Kapler, the director of Player Development for Dodgers, and Bob Geren, the bench coach of the New York Mets, among others. Mattingly`s separation will not affect Ryu Hyun-jin`s rehabilitation as in the major league, players are managed by the front.
