“I suggest that a group of experts to carry out a joint study on Eurasia network be formed whose first conference to be held in the first half of 2016 in Korea,” President Park Geun-hye said on Thursday. Addressing the keynote speech at an opening ceremony for “International Symposium of Eurasia Transportation and Logistics” at a hotel in Seoul, President Park stressed the important of building transportation and logistics network to realize “Eurasia Initiative” that the Korean government has been pushing forward with.

“Many countries including China, Russia and the U.S. have announced strategies for building a variety of network such as "One Belt, One Road," "New Eastern Policy," "New Silk Road Initiative." Korea has joined hands with other countries within the region for the Eurasia Initiative so as to transform the Eurasia into a united peaceful continent with creativeness,” said the President, stressing that “Building such network across the vast continent like Eurasia can’t be done by a single country. It requires enhanced mutual cooperation among countries whose network strategies are underway.” She added that “It is my sincere hope that this event could provide momentum to usher in the era of New-Eurasia which would bring common prosperity to the world.”
