Korea`s Song Sang-wuk has garnered two gold medals in equestrian event at this Asian Games, continuing a golden streak for Korea. Song won the individual and team gold medals at the event, which was held in Incheon Dream Park Equestrian Venue on September 26. This is the first time in 28 years that Korea has struck gold in this event.
Koreas biggest badminton star Lee Yong-dae and Yoo Yeon-seong have secured a bronze medal. The pair, which is ranked first in the world, beat 12-th placed Indonesian pair Angga Pratama/Rian Agung Saputra 2-0 (21-16, 21-11). They are targeting their second gold medal following the mens team gold. Womens badminton Bae Yeon-ju also beat out Thailands Ratchanok Intanon, in the singles quarterfinals 2-1 (21-4, 18-21, 21-8) and secured a bronze medal by reaching the semi-finals.
Korean mens basketball team, which is eying their first gold medal in 12 years, trounced Kazakhstan 77-60 in Group H of the first preliminary league. Although the Korean team fell behind to 30-39 in rebound, the team scored ten three-score shoots. Korea will have its second game with the difficult opponent the Philippines on Saturday.
The Korean mens and womens golf team, which aims at sweeping all four gold medals for the third Asian Games in a row, saw high school up-and-comer Yeom Eun-ho cruising. At the second round for men at the Dream Park Country Club, he cut down on six shots and is leading with 11-under per 133. However, Korea trailed Taiwan by seven shots for second place in the mens team event. In the womens individual event, Park Gyeol finished joint second by three shots.
