Jumping to the finals

Korean long jumper Kim Deok-hyeon flies above the sand Thursday with his body folded to the extent that his knees nearly touch his chest in the men’s long jump qualifier at the IAAF World Championships of Athletics in Daegu. Kim, the holder of the Korean record (8.20 meters), jumped 8.02 meters to become the first Korean to reach the finals of the biennial tournament.
