Blasting hit No. 3,000

Fans give a standing ovation Saturday to shortshop Derek Jeter (left) of the New York Yankees of the U.S. Major League Baseball, who hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning for his 3,000th hit in a home game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Jeter is the first player to record 3,000 hits with just one team.
