South Koreas Unification Minister Hyun In-taek pays his respects to Hwang Jang-yop, the highest-ranking North Korean to defect to South Korea who died Sunday, at a memorial altar in Seoul Asan Hospital Monday afternoon. Special Affairs Minister Lee Jae-oh, ruling Grand National Party Rep. Kim Moo-sung, and Liberty Forward Party Chairman Lee Hoi-chang also paid their respects to Hwang. No leading members of the main opposition Democratic Party, the progressive Democratic Labor Party and the New Progressive Party showed up, however.
