On the last day of the Beijing Paralympics yesterday, marathoners run through downtown the Chinese capital after starting at Tiananmen Square. Ninety-seven runners with disabilities ranging from spinal cord injury to amputation started together and were ranked according to their disability grades. The best record in men’s T54, or wheelchair race, was one hour, 23 minutes and 17 seconds.
