KBS Selects Lee Byung-soon as New President

The KBS board of directors said yesterday that it will recommend Lee Byung-soon as its new president to President Lee Myung-bak.

The board chose Lee Byung-soon, head of the affiliate KBS Business, after interviewing four candidates in a meeting. The presidential office will name him the new KBS chief as early as today.

Lee Byung-soon will serve until November next year in serving out the remaining term of his predecessor, the fired Jung Yun-joo.

Joining KBS as a reporter in 1977, the new chief has served as a correspondent in Paris and Berlin, the head director of KBS Changwon and Daegu, and the president of KBS Media.
