Chinese Lake Nearing Collapse

Aftershock-triggered landslides have blocked Lake Tangijashan in China’s northern Beichuan County. Authorities had planned to blast a portion of the dike, but have reportedly backed off for fear of weakening the ground. Water is being drained from the swelling lake. About 130,000 residents have been ordered to evacuate the region.
