Bicycle manias ride the stage, not the road.

Music concert ‘Run a Bicycle’ with bicycle as its main theme will open in Imagination Courtyard (SangSang Madang) near Hongik University in Seoul starting 7 p.m. on Jan. 26.

The concert is planned under a unique theme, designed to promote a desirable bicycle culture. The concert was first held on Dec. 14 last year. It plans to have a monthly relay concert, and in May a major bicycle concert is to take place near Nanji Island in the Han River.

The concert features Peppermint Club, a project group joining ‘Hot Potato’ and Lee Sun-gyu of Jaurim, and Taroo’s vocalist who sang ‘The Melody’ for TV drama ‘The First Shop of Coffee Prince’, and the five-member Indi band ‘Annyeong Bada,’ which means “Good-bye, sea” in Korean.

The singers all love bicycles and video clips in between the songs will show the meaning of bicycle in their lives.

Bicycles will also be featured on the stage as props. Documents showing the history of evolution of bicycle will be exhibited and a lighting show with the message of environmental protection will be staged using light-emitting diodes (LED) attached to spokes of bicycles.

A member of Deli Spice and organizer of the event, Yoon Jun-ho, who planned the concert, said, “We are considering opening a secondhand bicycle market or featuring a bicycle stunt show during the concert next time.” Call 02) 330-6225 for more information.
