Happy Birthday to Your Highness!
A special ceremony, called Jinjakrye, that celebrates the 40th birthday of Queen Sunwon, wife of the 23rd King of the Joseon Dynasty, was reenacted on June 11 at Yeongyeongdang, Changdeokgung. In Jinjakrye, the king and queen are given liquor by vassals. Dance and music performances and meals were reproduced based on historical research.
