500 Million-Year-old Cave Daegeum Opened for Visitors

Cave Daegeum (Daegeumgul) located in Shingi-myeon, Samcheok, is opening for visitors seven years after its discovery. The city of Samcheok announced on May 11 that the cave will be open to the public starting on June 5. Daegeumgul is the home to four fountains, stalactites, stalagmites, cave coral, and cave pearls, and is close to the Daei-ri cave region, which is designated as natural monument no. 178. A maximum of 720 people daily, who have made online reservations, will ride a monorail with 42 seats to explore the cave.
