Michelle Wie (17) missed the cut two weeks in a row in a men’s game, ranking in last place.

On September 16, in the second round of the PGA tour 84 Lumber Classic held at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa (Par 72) in Farmington, Pennsylvania, Wie made eight bogeys and one double bogey, scoring only one birdie for a round score of 9-over 81 and a midway total of 14-over 158. She ranked in last place (134th) among the players who finished the second round, missing the cut again after last week’s European tour Omega European Masters (15-over). She was 13 strokes behind the cut line, causing controversy yet again about her “reckless” attempts.

Missing the cut in ten games out of eleven attempts at a “battle of the sexes,” Michelle Wie was determined to continue challenging men’s games, saying, “I won’t give up. Although my score is bad, I’m getting better. I was a hundred times better than last week.” Michelle Wie will play in the LPGA tour Samsung World Championship next month and is planning on giving another shot at the men’s game at the Japan Golf Tour Casio World Open in November.
