Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering delivered the 1,300-ton submarine “Cakra” to Indonesia yesterday. This is the first time that a local company has exported a submarine to another country. The Cakra is a diesel-powered submarine 59.5 meters in length and 6.2 meters in width. It has a 39.8 km per hour maximum speed and carries 14 torpedoes. Its Indonesian crew is lining up next to the submarine at the delivery ceremony at Okpo Shipbuilding Yard, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in Geoje, Gyeongnam Province.
