About 35 minutes into the first half of Uniteds match against West Bromwich, Park assisted Paul Scholes first goal of the match for Manchester. The British newspaper The Independent picked Park Ji-sung as the MVP of the game.
Park drove the ball into the penalty box and took a dive after sending the ball rolling to Scholes, who rushed in and kicked the ball hard into the net with his left foot.
Manchester won the match, 3-0 by adding two more goals later on. Both goals were headers that came from Rio Ferdinand and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
