Hurricane Wilma’s Wake

When Hurricane Wilma reached the resort city of Cancun in Yucatan, Mexico, on October 22, power line towers cracked helplessly. At least seven were killed in Mexico by Hurricane Wilma, and thousands of households were destroyed or inundated. Wilma was a Category 3 hurricane when it touched down at Playa del Carmen, Yucatan, but weakened to a Category 2 hurricane when it passed Cancun. It is forecasted that Wilma will become stronger, travel over Cuba, and land in Florida.
