The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) announced in an October 13 report that it expects North Korea’s cereal production to increase by 400,000 tons this year compared to last.

The report said the country’s cereal production could reach 3.9 million tons, the country’s biggest harvest since 1995, after analyzing satellite pictures, field study reports, the status of fertilizer and seed supply, and the mobilization of workers.
