U.S. Supreme Court Confirmation Hearings Begin

Senate confirmation hearings on Supreme Court chief justice nominee John Roberts began on September 12 (at local time). The hearings are expected to last for at least four days. The confirmation hearings on the Chief Justice nominee are the first in 19 years in the U.S.. If confirmed, John Roberts will be the youngest Chief Justice in 200 years.
