Heads of executive agencies such as the National Medical Center, National Theater of Korea, and Driver’s License Agency will not be replaced for at least two years after being appointed.

In its effort to strengthen stability and responsibility of executive agencies, the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs announced on October 25 that it would submit a proposal to the National Assembly this month for a law revision in which a minimum term for the heads of executive agencies will be guaranteed.

In the revised law, ministries in charge of executive agencies will not be able to change the heads of the agencies for at least two years after the appointment. The term of the heads will also been extended from current three years to five years.
