Returned Remains of a War Prisoner to His Hometown

On June 14, the remains of Private Baek Jong-kyu (69 at the time), who died in a North Korean prison in 1997 as a war prisoner, returned to his hometown, Socheon 3-ri Geumcheon-myeon Cheongdo-gun Gyungsangbuk-do. His daughter Young-sook (48) said, “I came to Korea, risking my life, to make my father’s wish to be buried in his hometown come true.”
