Boom of Inviting Noh Hoi-chan among Universities

Posted May. 17, 2004 22:00,

Inviting Noh Hoi-chan is booming among universities all over the country. Noh Hoi-chan, secretary general of Democratic Labor Party (DLP) who has become a star by his pithy comments that he had made prior to and after the general election, has been busy lately making lectures in a number of universities.

The universities where Noh has made or will make a lecture numbers more than 30, including Dongguk University, Busan National University, Seoul National University, Seoul National University of Technology, University of Ulsan, Chonnam National University, Kyung Hee University, Ajou University, Chung-Ang University, and others.

Noh is so popular that more than 10 universities had to postpone inviting him toward the period of festivals in the fall. His lectures at Kookmin University, Dongguk University, and Busan National University attracted so many students that those universities even arranged seats in the hallway.

Until now, invitation of personage from progressive groups has usually been made by student councils, but Noh received a formal invitation from the universities or colleges themselves in many cases.

Noh is planning to appeal for support of the DLP to college students, whose approval rate for DLP is not as high as the expectations, and make good use of mutual communication by reflecting their opinions in the administration.
