Park Ye-na (18 Seoul Physical High School) up-graded Korean fin swimming to world level.
At 15th, in 11th World Fin Swimming Game in Patras of Greece, Park Ye-na recorded of 13 minutes 58 seconds 25 for 1500 meter with bronze medal.
The record is shorted than Korean record by 20 second 82 from 14 minutes 19 seconds. Korean record of fin swimming was also marked by her in Chungmugong Game in April. So it was the first medal in world games since 8th game of 1996.
Park ye-nas record is the result of only 2 years as having made her debut in fin swimming. So she is assessed as prospective one to grow as world swimmer.
Park Ye-na is the first daughter of Park Inkyu (46), director of Samsung Life Women Basketball team. She began to swimming at 6th class of Duksoo Primary School and was focused as prospective swimmer of backstroke. However after operation on the shoulder when she was 1st class of high school in 2000, she gave up swimming for a while, but she changed her main swimming to fin swimming. Patience, good muscle tone with 168 centimeters tall, 59 kilogram is her strength.
