Since the beginning of the year until the end of June, secret carry out of foreign currency is increasing rapidly as we can see that the amount of disclosed money by the authorities while secretly carrying out foreign currency to overseas is up to 2.5 trillion won (510 cases).

It was analyzed that especially business owners transferred foreign currency to overseas disguising trade or kept secret their asset by not collecting export bonds on purpose; therefore, it is urgent to prepare countermeasures for that.

According to the data that the Korea Customs Service submitted to the Congressman Sim, Jae-Chul of the Grand National Party on the 25th, the amount of disclosed secret carry out foreign currency in this year is closed to be doubled than that of last whole year (1.8 trillion won, 624 cases), and was increased by 322% than that of the same period in last year.

Among the companies that were disclosed, there are companies that were invested with public fund after the foreign exchange crisis such as G company, which was prosecuted by the prosecution since it did not collect 100.4 billion won worth of export bonds, so many people pointed out the moral hazard that were sweeping over many companies. The Congressman Sim insisted, “During the first half of the year, secret carry out of foreign currency by the companies through disguising trade and not collecting export bonds is increased by 755%, 626% compare to the same period of last year,” and “secret take in through disguising trade was also increased by 11 times compare to the same period of last year, and there is a strong suspicion that most of it might be secret funds laundered through overseas bank transactions.”

Meanwhile, the amount of secret take in of foreign currency is appeared to be 1.19 trillion won and it already exceeded the total amount (1.16 trillion won) of last year.
