The Special Investigation Bureau of the Seoul District Prosecution (Chief Prosecutor, Cha Dong-Min), is thoroughly investigating on the dialogues between Mr. Choi Kyu-Sun and the political and economic celebrities recorded in the confiscated tapes from the house and offices of the Choi Kyu-Sun side.
Cheon Ho-Young, former secretary of Mr. Choi, testified that “Mr. Choi always recorded the communications related with Hong-Gul.”
The Prosecution revealed that it has not found the cassette tape to prove the assertion of Rep. Seol-Hoon that Mr. Choi delivered money to Mr. Lee Hoi-Chang through spokesperson Yoon Yeo-Jun. In relation, the Prosecution will summon Rep. Seol, who is accused by Rep. “Yoon for the charge of defamation.”
The Prosecution recently searched the house of Ms. Yeom (33), who reportedly managed billions of secret fund for Mr. Choi, and confiscated 2 computers, 8 video tapes, credit cards, and about 70 secret banking account books.
The Prosecution also recovered the hard disk data about the income and expenditure from the computer confiscated from the Mr. Choi`s office and verifying the truth of the testimonies of the related people.
The Prosecution is planning to summon the related persons from POSCO to question about the circumstances and the role of Mr. Choi in the transaction of 200,000 TPI stocks. The Prosecution is also investigating the relevancies between the period that Hong-Gul stayed in Korea and the period that Mr. Choi met with business people for solicitation, reviewing the documents of the Immingration`s Office. The Prosecution will summon Hwang In-Don, Hong-Gul`s brother in law, on 29th and will set for the overall investigation on the suspicion on the selection of the TPI lottery business.
