The speech of withdrawal from primary which candidate Rhee In-Je, who ran for the primary of MDP gave, lasted only one minute yesterday seeming to signify several emotions.
He might have thought that `running full distances` just for achieving form is meaningless, contrary to the decision of beginning.
His withdrawal mid-way, as the result of primary has been decided already, is not the matter for any one else to talk about.
The primary which MDP started for the first time caused lots of criticism.
Severe ideological dispute which candidate Rhee had with candidate Roh Moo-hyun had indeed given us a positive view in verifying the contestants thoroughly, although there was some criticism that it was conventional colorist.
Verification of ideology and policy of Presidential candidate should be carried out entirely from now on too.
Regionalism has arisen again due to competition between candidate Roh and candidate Rhee.
If we see `voting` pattern of two candidates each region, we can clarify that regionalism in Youngman, Honam, and Chungcheong province still exists and is used for politics.
It is too early to evaluate that regionalism is relieved, although Honam province supported candidate Roh, who is from Youngnam province.
The primary that started by seven candidates in the beginning is left with two candidate and there are some doubtful reasons for withdrawal while giving up the primary.
Therefore, the primary didn`t reach the expectations expected by MDP.
Especially, the point which we pay attention to is operation of `invisible hand` which candidate Rhee raised.
Some say that it is plotting theory of Candidate Rhee; however, there is crossed opinion with regard to operation of Kim-Sim (mind of President Kim) at the back.
Following the aforesaid, the answer of candidate Rhee side, ¡°it might be one of the factors for determination¡° on the question ¡° is the appointment of Park Jie-won, Chief of Presidential Secretary related to resignation of candidate Rhee? ¡°, leaves deep resonance.
