Jeon Yun Chul Appointed As New Deputy P.M For Economic Affairs, Park Jie-Won as Chief Presidential Secretary

President Kim Dae Jung appointed Chief Presidential Secretary, Jeon Yun-Chul as successor to Jin Nyum, Deputy P.M for Economic Affairs, who resigned from the post for contesting elections for Kyoung gi governor on 15th and Park Jie Won, special aide for presidential policy as successor to Chief Jeon.

Also, President Kim appointed former Senior Presidential Secretary for Economic affairs, Lee Gi-ho as Special Advisor to the President for Economy, Welfare and Labor affairs, which is a minister-level post.

Park Sun-Sook, the Chief Presidential Press Secretary said, “ all those who have been appointed newly are the right people to execute work well, as they have been working in the current government for a long time and knows related job well¡°, and ¡°government will promote the effort for reformation without interruption through these personnel”.

The post of Special Advisor to the President for policy has disappeared and Special Advisor to the President for Economy, Welfare and Labor affairs, has been newly established, therefore, Presidential Secretariat would be adjusted partly.

Nam Gyeong- pil, spokesperson of GNP insisted, “appointment of Park Jie-Won, who is known for pressing the opposition and the press, is a declaration of war on people, the opposition and the Press ”, and “ President Kim ought to withdraw anti- people`s personnel immediately”.
