Due to the high employment rate of the college graduates, the applicants crowd in colleges. Especially, the departments that have changed to 3-year course from 2-year course and that showed high employment rates, such as design, information technology, nursing science, and preschool education departments, recorded high competitive rates.

According to the colleges, the average competitive rate of Myongji College, which closed accepting applications on 9th, recorded 30.5:1, and the 3-year programs recorded high competitive rates (Industrial Information Design Department 92.7:1, Communication Design Department 62.6:1, Craft Design Department 71.2:1, Early Childhood Education Department 52.1:1, Information Communication Department 32.6:1, Computer Science Department 25.2:1). And Theater and Visual Arts (31.4:1), English (45.9:1), and Tax Accounting (31.5:1) Departments showed over 30:1 of competitive rates.

Induk Institute of Technology recorded 24.5:1 of average competitive rate (Jewelry Design (night) 86.14:1, Internet TV Broadcasting Communication 46.21:1, Architecture 36.22:1, Computer Electronic 31.84:1, Digital Industrial Design 30.18:1, Internet Information Communication 26.34:1, Animation Cartoon 21:1, English (night) 51.58:1).

National Medical Center College of Nursing (3-year program), which is for the applicants who received high KSAT scores, recorded 29.1:1 of competitive rare, which is higher than last year`s record, 27:1.

Hanyang Women`s College showed 10.9:1 of average competitive rate (Chinese Department 19.2:1, Early Childhood Development Department 18.5:1, Business Administration Department 17.9:1).

The President of Korean Council for College Education Lee Chang-Gu (President of Hanyang Women`s College) said, "Even the university graduates are hard to find jobs because of the serious difficulties in employment. Colleges train students focusing on the practical education, which is advantageous in job market. Therefore, the applicants crowd in colleges."
