"Not only for Korean soccer, but also for the Japanese, the match between the Korea-Japan team and world all starts is a historic event that has a special meaning to the co-hosts of the 2002 World Cup," Cho Kwang-Rae, co-head coach of the Korea-Japan all-star team, said after the first joint training of the team Tuesday. "Korea and Japan, which used to be arch-rivals, have been getting closer rapidly on the occasion of the World Cup. I hope this trend will continue also in the days to come."

The all-star game is to be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Yokohama International Stadium, the site for the final of the 2002 World Cup.
