Lee Joo-Hyung gets silver in gymnastics

Lee Joo-Hyung (27) won a bronze and a silver medal in gymnastics at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In the men's individual parallel bars final held on Monday, Lee displayed a skillful performance and finished off with a solid landing to record 9.812, just behind China's Li Xiaopeng (9.825), and secured the silver medal. Lee added a bronze medal to his tally in the men's individual horizontal bar final, scoring a 9.775.

In the 54kg class Greco-roman wrestling semifinal, Shim Kwon-Ho, the gold medallist at the 1996 Atlanta Games, defeated North Korean Kang Yong-Gyun on a technical foul to reach the finals, which will take place on Sept. 26. Furthermore, the Korean women's handball team beat Angola to reach the final 8 undefeated (4 wins) in the preliminary round. Korea was unable to win another gold medal for the 3rd straight day, keeping the nation at 12th place with 4 golds, 6 silvers and 8 bronze medals.
