The Korean women's volleyball team beat Peru to give them a record of 3 wins-1 loss, confirming the team's advancement to the quarterfinals by ranking 3rd in their group. At the 4th preliminary league game for B group held at the Sydney Darling Harbor Entertainment Center, Korea came from behind to beat Peru with well-distributed contributions from Ku Min-Jung (21 points), Chang So-Yun (17 points) and Park Mee-Kyung (12 points).
In the 1st set, the Korean team was hurt by Moy Milagros Alicia's(19 points) attack, but in the 2nd set, as the team's playing and Ku and Chang's offensive began to succeed, it took 3 sets in a row. In the 3rd set, Korea was losing 22-24, but thanks to Park Soo-Jeong's moving attacks and Peru¡¯s mistakes, Korea was able to make a deuce. Both teams were on equal footing until Chang succeeded in attacking the middle, giving Korea a 30-28 set win. In the 4th set, everything went Korea's way, handing the team an easy win. Korea will play its final preliminary game on the 24th against the Russian team, which is heavily favored to win the event.
